I have many stories beginning 26 years ago. Each trip to cleftRock over those many years has revealed to me some new facet about the majesty of God.

Bob, we met you 10 years ago at the Conference on Mental Health and Missions and learned of the ministry of cleftRock at that time. Three pictures from 2000, 2001, and 2002 hang on our basement wall to remind us of the wonderful times our family had together at the Gatehouse. Thank you so much for the good fellowship in your home while we were there and for your spirit of service and love. Blessings on you in your retirement--we hope it is as satisfying as ours is.

I first met Bob and eddie when I started coming to Cleft Rock with Women together for Christ twelve or thirteen years ago.
Bob and Eddie are very special people to me,
you can tell they surely do love the Lord and his work.
May you enjoy your retirement.
God bless you both.

I was recently thinking about Bob and "Eddie" and it occurred to me how much love they've demonstrated to me and my family. Then I thought about all the people they'd showed their love to. I have to confess, my first thought was that they've demonstrate the greatest love of all. But as they would agree, I'm wrong! There's a greater love,... our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bob & Eddie, I'm glad you've forgiven me for riding my dirt bike late at night through cleftRock when I was young. I'm glad you have advised, counseled, guided and prayed with me like you have. I'm thankful for the children you brought into the world...my friendship with Todd, and the gentleness & kindness of your daughters. Better yet, I'm thankful that you've LOVED me no matter what.

Jim and I were looking forward to spending a week alone with God but had no idea that venue would be at one of the most beautiful, peaceful and inspiring settings in this part of the country! Thank you Bob and Eddie for following God's lead in founding Cleft Rock. It was a place where we rested, were refreshed and renewed in our bodies and spirits--prepared to return to our field of service. Thank you for your warm hospitality too! May you continue to follow God's lead in this next phase of life!

Our family met the Fields in the 70's when we lived in London,Ky for a while. We helped to work on some of the missionary homes they were building. The Fields were such an inspiration to us in their loving giving attitudes. We'd not met people with the open hand policy they had of," If I have it and you need it ,it is yours."We went for personal counseling on finances to the Fields. We also came to marriage retreats there. Counseling and prayer with Sarah Bivins who worked and lived at Cleft Rock helped to save our marriage. Our church here in Winchester has had several womens retreats there and was much blessed. So Bob and Eddie and Cleft Rock have been a real blessing to us as a family. Bob blessed our children Mark and Ann by giving them premarital counseding. We love and appreciate you both, Bob and Eddie. I pray God will bless you both richly in this next phase of your lives.LOve I

CleftRock is one of my very favorite places!I've attended retreats sitting under the
God-inspired teaching of Bob and Eddie. I've felt honored to wash dishes, make beds, sweep up lots of ladybugs, and provide child care for MKs. Bob and Eddie, I am so blessed to be your sister in Christ. Your prayers have touched heaven for my family and me and I know they are ongoing. Know that my prayers go with you and your family as you begin this next leg of your journey. Thank you for the cleftRock years.Think of how many lives have been touched through your obedience to God in that ministry! I love you both with an everlasting love. Carol Miller

Ed & I met Bob & Eddie Fields through our friendship with E.B. & Sylvia Smith who were our S.S. teachers @ First Baptist,Mason, Ohio. When E.B. & Sylvia became the Administrators we attended the first Open House & met several of the missionary couples then. WE came down to participate in many work retreats one of which was sewing green checkered tablecloths for the new lodge dining room. Then when we started attending Lebanon Pressbyterian, my husband organized two Men's Work Retreats to do several building projects. Also we invited couples from LPC to attend the marriage erichment retreat conducted by E. B. & Sylvia. All in all we have fond memories of our involvment with CleftRock. Ed & Harriet Smith

In case I show up as "anonymous" agian, this is Nate being a bump on a blog. I have so many stories that involve cleftRock and the Fields I really don't know where to begin, and I definitely don't want to be a "blog hog" (maybe I should stay anonymous afterall). Thanks for keeping me grounded in the hope of Jesus and all things simple... like riding in the Jeep, fishing, building, chopping wood, making snow igloos, sledding, mowing grass, hot tubbing, eating, wagon riding down to the river, canoeing, tree farming, praying, sharing, sitting by the fire and visiting, hugs, tears, growing...

I have been connected to the Fields since before my birth and to cleftRock since 1975. Such wonderful and fun memories being a part near the beginning - the stories will go on today as you celebrate.I'll add some in a much longer edition. Thank you for welcoming all I brought there with the love of Jesus, for faithfully running the race to the goal you were given through storms I cannot imagine. cleftRock has been a place of refuge, home away from home, community, reunions, mentoring for me and synonymous with the Fields. As you retire I know the work that has begun will be continued and grow in ways none of us can imagine. I continue to pray for you and the ministry as you have for me every day of my life - it has made such a difference. I am thankful for you your faithfulness and the commitment of all connected with the ministry.
